For sale here is a Pezon et Michel Super Parabolic PPP, Colorado (Pate Type) bamboo rod. 7'7 2/2 for a 5 or 6 weight line. Made in France. Staggered ferrule set up with original plug; green silks tipped with red; in original P&M red satin bag and original P&M-labeled canvas-covered tube. In excellent original condition though the rod does show normal fishing wear. There are a few blemishes in the varnish, but nothing requiring attention.All sections are full length and straight. This rod is a super stout, parabolic medium fast action rod. Note, this is a French made P&M, not a Sharpe's or Farlow's rod built on a P&M blank. The rod weighs 4 oz. The size 16/64 ferrules are standard P&M ferrules. The fit is perfect. They were machined with a taper in the male to account for wear over time. Red witness mark for easy alignment. U-shaped hook-keeper. Ritz style grip with moderate soiling and free of any other defects. Bronze colored aluminum down-locking reel seat with a cork spacer. There is slight wear around the rim of the butt cap.
In 1949, a new series was created, even more sophisticated than Parabolic: RITZ SUPERPARABOLIC PPP, where PPP means Puissance Pendulaire Progressive (i.e. Pendular Progressive Power. These initials clearly focus the target of all developments…). This series, that shortly become well recognized worldwide, constitutes the top of the whole production of the "magical" trio Plantet – Ritz – Creusevaut. PPP series distinguishes itself from Parabolic ones for the research of the best balance between length and strength; the characteristic balance found in coupling two different length pieces, moving the female joint ferrule nearer to handle, supplies more quickness without loosing precision and efficiency in short-range casts.
When used by the best-skilled fly casters, such rods (built with the highest quality raw material, with luxury finish and details) can perform long distance casts, although working smoothly and precisely within few meters too. All rods are manufactured in two different length pieces....

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
