A nice RD Taylor fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4 line. Serial #24-4-137. Medium-slow action. This rod was well used judging by the grip soiling but appears in excellent condition otherwise. The varnish is excellent as well as the ferrule fit. The bamboo is flamed to a light chestnut color and has a two opposed node pattern. The main wraps are light brown with red edges and a band of black at the keeper and male ferrules. The keeper is 1 flat right. The step ferrules are oxidized along with the other hardware. The grip is a medium cigar, 10 corks long or 5". The reel seat is varnished walnut with Bob's (as usual) excellent hand-turned hardware. The butt cap is stamped " R.D. Taylor, maker" in a cartouche. This rod comes packed in the original bag and brushed aluminum tube with brass top and bottom.
