Robert Bolt Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #5

A nice Robert Bolt bamboo fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #1007. The rod weighs 4.1 ounces on my scale. Mint, unused condition. Nice DF action, quick but not too quick. Oven tempered cane that's a chestnut color, and done in a two opposed node pattern. Brown main wraps with yellow edges on all, with one band of red at the keeper. Carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The ferrules are overwrapped to the welt and the welts have a tiny "RK Bolt" roller die. The rod comes with brass and cork ferrule plugs. The varnish is superb. This rod was built in 2010 and hollow built through the butt and mid. The grip is 6" long and turned to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap. The uplocking screwlock seat spacer is a perfectly varnished quarter-sawn piece of zebra wood. The polished aluminum screwlock is stamped "RK Bolt, Maker" and the bottom is nicely radiused. The cloth rod bag is maroon and the aluminum tube has Bob's data sticker and a cloth protective overbag.
