A RL Winston bamboo fly rod, 5'10", 2-piece, 1-tip, built for a #3 or #4 line. Serial #1372. 2 ounces. Used with considerable hand soiling on the grip but the varnish is in great condition. Full flexing action. Dark wheatstraw color cane in a three up node pattern. Tan wraps with maroon edges at the keeper, ferrules, and tip-tops. The stripping guide is carbide and the snakes are chrome. The owner's name is inscribed on the rod as well as other data. The grip is 5" long in half wells profile. The seat is mortised cork with an aluminum ring and pocket cap. The rod cloth bag has a butt pocket and only one tip pocket. The rod tube is aluminum with a green plastic top on a chain and has the San Francisco address for Winston. However the tube is oversized for this rod and could not be original.
