An RL Winston San Francisco-era bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels like a #4. Serial #1266. 2.9 ounces. Medium full flexing action. Good original condition. Shows some hand soiling to the grip but little sign of use otherwise. The cane is a wheatstraw color and the nodes are done in a three up pattern. The wraps are putty with burgundy edges at the keeper and ferrules. Carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The grip is 5 1/2" long and styled to a half wells profile. The reel seat is mortised cork with an aluminum ring and pocket cap and a black (delrin?) bottom cap. The rod bag is red cloth with a sewn-on Winston San Francisco label. The rod tube has about 40% of the Winston label intact.
