A nice R.L. Winston fly rod 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip built for a #6 line. Serial #1327. A San Francisco era rod. "Pat #2537488" is written on the rod shaft as well as "B4" and "Built for Thomas Treadway". 4 1/4oz. Medium slow full-flexing action. 3 up node pattern and tempered cane. The ferrules are fully wrapped in a light tan with a band of red at the keeper and ferrules. Guides are chrome. The serial number is lettered on the butt section and at the base of each tip. Very good varnish with a few minor scratches on the lower butt. The keeper is 1 flat right. The 6-inch full wells grip has been treated with a coating of some sort. Polished aluminum downlocking screw-lock and a black bakelite seat with the threads cut into the bakelite. The seat is finished off with an aluminum pocket cap and a bakelite button. Good ferrule fit. A red cloth bag with a sewn-on "Winston Rods, San Francisco California" label. Winston aluminum tube with a bit of the original Winston label still present.
