For sale here is a bamboo rod made by Rolf Baginski of Germany - his "Westwind" model - 8 feet with two mids and two tips as requested by the original owner. Made for a four weight line. Serial #1248. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Darkly flamed cane with a slightly mottled appearance. Transparent wraps with a very fine ring of black thread through the middle. bright guides, candy apple red agate stripper. The rod features a beautiful and dramatically swelled butt. Cigar grip with a slim taper towards the nose of the grip. Nickel-silver cap and ring reel seat with rope knurling around the edges and a fine mortised burl wood spacer. Swiss style, truncated ferrules, size 14/64 and 9/64. The fit is very nice as is to be expected of a Baginski rod. The rod weighs 4.35 /4.45 depending on which mid-section is used. One of the mids produces an ever so slightly stiffer action though both produce a smooth medium-fast action as is typical of Rolf's Westwind model. Included with the rod is its original labeled bag and tube made of a high quality plastic with a fine leather tube cover.
This rod is offered at half of the cost of what Mr. Baginski charges for a new Westwind Series rod, with the added versatility of an extra mid-section. A great deal for a fantastic rod!
