A Ron Kusse "Performance" model bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. The rod weighs 4.7 ounces on my scale (the weight listed on Ron's hang tag states it as 3 3/4 ounces). Near mint condition, and probably used a half dozen times or so judging by the ring marks on the seat. There is just the tiniest hint of casting cracks at the ferrule wraps and one tiny spot of brassing on the ferrule welt. Very nice condition overall. Powerful fast action rod. The varnish is perfect and in pristine condition. The cane is flamed and the nodes are done in a three up pattern. The wraps at the ferrules, keeper, and tip tops are brown with light tan on the black SRMC stripper and black snake guides. Mirrored tips. The grip is 6 1/2" long and shaped to a finely tapered cigar that almost touches the large swell. A lip from the mahogany slide band reel seat acts as the rear cork check. The nickel silver slide band and butt cap are both oxidized. The butt cap is die stamped with "Ron Kusse, Maker" in a cartouche. The rod packs into a cloth bag with Ron's hang tag attached and the rod tube is solid brass.
