For sale here is an extremely scarce "Heritage" Edward Vom Hofe style fly reel, constructed of german silver and delrin side plates. This reel is serial #10 of 27 reels, produced by Ross Hauck of Ross Reels. Ross was commissioned by Len Codella of Heritage Sporting Collectibles to make this limited edition run of reels in 1992. I've included a photo of the 1999 listing from when my customer acquired this reel.
The reel features a seven-position drag setting mechanism on the tail plate, a sliding click switch, two roller pillars, and a sliding oil cap marked "Heritage No.10 E. Vom Hofe". Comes housed in a finely crafted leather reel case.
The reel has a 2 7/8" diameter and 1" wide spool, making it roughly equivalent to a Vom Hofe Perfection size 1 (diameter-wise) with a spool that is less dished than the Vom Hofe reels, resulting in a bit more line capacity. It is a direct drive reel. All things considered, the design ended up being a very nice balance between the Perfection and Restigouche models. It weighs 6.4 oz. Actual line capacity follows:

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
