Sage 508 Fly Reel

A desirable Sage 508 Fly Reel with a spare spool, 3 3/4" diameter and set up for RHW. Catalog weight of 6 1/2 ounces and this one is serial number 0885. This reel was made in England by Hardy exclusively for Sage. This is the Sage equivalent of the Hardy St. George 3 3/4" and Sage had them add a palming rim. Near mint condition bordering on true mint - despite both reel and spool having a line loaded on them, I could find almost no sign that they've been used. The foot has some mounting marks but the frame and spool are perfectly clean. Easily convertible retrieve direction with a reversible single screw nickel silver line guide. Strong smooth drag with a loud outgoing click. Comes with the original suede Sage pouch and the spare spool comes with its original box. A modern classic for salmon or steelhead!
