Sage 509 Fly Reel with Spare Spool

A Sage 509 Fly Reel with a spare spool, this reel was made exclusively for Sage by Hardy of England. 3 7/8" diameter and set up for RHW. This is the Sage equivalent of the Hardy St. John or JLH and Sage had them add a palming rim. The reel is in fair used condition with a little mild corrosion to the finish in two areas on the backplate, and the plastic disc that covers the spindle on the backplate is missing. The spare spool has a few marks on the rim edge here and there but is in fine shape overall. The reel is fine mechanically with a nice loud click. Bronze finish. Both the reel and spare spool have a line loaded on them. The reel weighs 9.4 ounces with the line and backing, and is designed to hold lines in the #7-10 range. Reversible single screw nickel silver line guide. There is plenty of life left in this reel for chasing salmon or steelhead.
