Edward Vom Hofe Perfection Fly Reel 1/0

A superb Edward Vom Hofe 360 Perfection fly reel in a very rare 1/0 size! 3 1/8" diameter and set up for the typical RHW. The reel weighs 6.9 ounces on my scale. Excellent overall condition with minor wear overall. There is some very minor rubbing and patina on the rims. There is one tiny little chip missing near a screw on one sideplate (a few mm is all). And there is a little bit of residue at the bronze hub at the interior of the spool (I suspect from a silk line). The red dot indicators on the drag are also somewhat faded, but that's about it. I can find no sign of any defects at all. The initials "JBF" and the date "12-25-40" are professionally engraved on the backplate. The reel is composed of a bronze hub, aluminum spool, hard rubber side plates, and soldered and pinned nickel silver rims. It has a nickel silver drag selector, aluminum serpentine handle with a hard rubber handle. The reel has an adjustable drag via a seven detent thumb bar with dot indicators. This 1/0 size was designed to hold 250 yards of silk line and measures 1 1/2" across the rims. "360" and "1-0" are stamped on the underside of the crossbar. "Edward Vom Hofe, Maker-NY-, Pat July 14,96" is stamped on the oil port cover. The reel comes with the original leather case with the same initials "JBF" stamped on the top (the leather strip that goes around the lid has separate on the left hand side, but could be restitched). A very nice example of this coveted Vom Hofe trout model.
