For sale here is a stunning limited edition 3 1/4" wide drum fly reel handmade by Joe Saracione. These reels preceded the introduction of the Deluxe II models and there were only 10 of each reels made, originally offered as narrow and wide drum sets of three. The sizes in these sets were 2 3/4", 3", and 3 1/4".
Unused condition. Right hand retrieve but can be converted to left by Joe. Serial #005.
These fine bench-made reels have nickel silver rings and sideplates made of highly polished ebonite, or hard rubber. Fixed click drag, nice and strong. The artfully-bolstered cross-pillars, screws, and knurled oil cap are made of stainless steel. The winding-arm washer-cup and counterbalance are also nickel silver. The foot and spool are aluminum. Bronze arbor.
