A very nice Saracione SCA (Saracione Classic American) fly reel, 3" diameter and set up for LHW. This is a bench-made reel, one of Joe's earliest which he made in the late 1980's (I remember discussing a later version of this reel with Joe when he was designing it). Near mint condition, I found one minuscule mark on the frame edge but no other signs of use (including no marks on the foot, the usual telltale). There is a small amount of backing loaded on the reel. I believe the retrieve is convertible on these by flipping the pawls. Beautiful S-handle design with black anodized aluminum sideplates and champagne colored frame. Pleasing, fixed click drag. This reel also has an ingenuous spool removal system that is activated by the sliding disc on the backplate, which, when pushed in, allows you to rotate the backplate until it is removable, giving easy access to the spool. This 3" size is the hardest of these to come by and is a terrific size that should hold #5 and #6 lines with backing. The reel packs into a fleece lined suede zipper pouch.
