For sale here is a Scott Rod Co. Heliply Model HP888/3 - 8'8" 3/1 8wt graphite fly rod. Serial no. 28595. The rod is in excellent condition. The Heliply series has become somewhat of a modern classic as many of Scott's rods do.
The rod features an unsanded blank characteristic of Scott rods. Maroon wraps. The script on the rod written in bright red also remains fully intact. Full-wells grip 7 1/2" with a burl cork nose is in excellent shape. The saltwater up-locking reel seat shows only the lightest handling wear. The cork and rubber fighting butt measures 1 7/8" in length. The spigot ferrules fit together perfectly with a 1/4" gap to allow for wear over time. Red witness marks for easy alignment. The rod weighs 4.65 oz. The action is fast yet retains a bit of feel for wonderful line control, more accurate casts, and livelier fights. Rod comes with original bag and tube.
