A nice Ted Godfrey Model 40 BiMetal fly reel, 2 1/2" diameter and set up for LHW. 1.23" frame width and weighs 6.2 ounces on my scale. Designed to hold a DT4 and 25 yards of backing. The reel may have been mounted on a rod but does not appear to have ever been fished. Raised pillar design with nickel silver sides and a bronze frame. Adjustable click and pawl drag. This reel has also been engraved on the backplate with trout on either side of the oil port cover (which also has a flower design on it), a small fly just above the port, and a mayfly above the Godfrey nameplate. The reel packs into a leather drawstring pouch with the original paperwork inside.
