A nice Thomas and Thomas Midge model bamboo fly rod, 9', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #2645. Used but very good condition. A very rare T&T model and a surprisingly great feeling rod for its length. Fine tipped and one of the faster rods in the T&T lineup. The rod weighs 5.6 ounces on my scale. Tan colored oven tempered cane done in a three up node pattern. Superb varnish. Light tan color wraps with black edges. Carbide stripper and black stainless snake guides. Oxidized swiss style ferrules with a collar on the males. The ferrule fits are excellent and the rod is straight. The grip is 7" long with a hidden pocket cap and turned to a medium cigar profile. The reel seat is an aluminum upwlocking screwlock with a varnished mortised walnut spacer. "Thomas and Thomas, Makers" is stamped on the slide. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with a stiffener. The polished aluminum tube has a brass collar and top. A very rare T&T indeed!
