A nice Thomas & Thomas Montana model bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip and built for a #6 line. Serial #4469. The rod weighs 6.7 ounces on my scale. This rod feels to me faster than the run of the mill Montanas. The rod has seen very modest careful use, just a bit of hand soiling to the grip and the start of a casting crack at the female ferrule wrap. Tiger stripe flamed and done with three up nodes. The usual fantastic T&T varnish. Very light tan main wraps, brown at the ferrules, with small bands of brown and black at the keeper and ferrule, and brown edges on the main wraps. SRMC carbide stripper and black snake guides. The Swiss ferrules have a collar on the males, and are oxidized. The grip is 5 3/4" long and shaped to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap in the heel. The reel seat spacer is mortised and varnished burl walnut, and the up-locking screwlock is nickel silver. The slide is roller stamped "Thomas & Thomas, Maker." The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with stiffener. The brushed aluminum tube has brass fixtures and the T&T data sticker.
