For sale here is a Maxwell era Leonard Hunt Model 49-5 bamboo rod -- 7 1/2 feet, 3/2, for a 5 weight line. Serial number 80142 indicates the rod was made in 1980, Maxwell left Leonard shortly thereafter. The rod is in excellent original condition. It has been fished but was cared for extremely well. All sections are full length and straight. Oxidized nickel silver fittings. Banded amber agate stripping guide. Original rose Gudebrod silks over medium flame tempered cane. Handsome swelled butt. Ring hook-keeper. Cigar grip is slightly soiled. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Blued nickel-silver cap and ring reel seat with beautifully figured mortised tiger maple spacer. Ferrules are size 15/64 and 9/64 with an excellent fit. Very smooth medium fast action. Rod includes original bag and original tube with fine brass fittings.
