A nice Maxwell Leonard 50DF -- an 8', 3-piece, 2-tip rod for a #6 line. Serial number 8050 "Standard model". It's been fished some, but not much - there is a little discoloring to the grip and a little brassing to inner guides - but otherwise in excellent condition. Light caramel colored cane which has been oven tempered. Varnished, and what spectacular varnish it is, just beautiful. Tan wraps with brown ones at the ferrules (and a red edge at ferrules and tip top). Pewter oxidized Leonard step ferrules. Ferrule fit is good. Western grip, tiger maple insert, with aluminum uplocking screw lock. "H.L. Leonard Rod co, the Rod Maker, since 1869" is stamped on the screw lock nut. Thisrod is straight and true as the day it left the shop. Looks to me like a rod made when I was at Leonard. Grey frost coated aluminum tube with a brass top.
