For sale here is a Walt Carpenter 7'9" Browntone 2/2 #5. 4 oz. Excellent plus condition - fished sparingly. Medium/Fast. Darkly oxidized cap and ring reel seat over a highly figured walnut spacer. The exquisite silk wraps are brown with black edges. This is simply one of the finest contemporary rods you can own. Walt's Browntone rods rarely show up on the secondary market. This rod was built by Walt in 1990 with serial numbered 90379. Walt's attention to detail and the smooth casting action of this rod with a 5 weight line just go to show why the prices of Carpenter rods continue to rise, plus the fact that Walt is a recognized master of the Catskill school of rod building and one of the very few direct descendants of the original Masters still practicing today. This rod is in original condition throughout having seen only light use.
