For sale here we have a Goodwin Granger Victory Model 8040 bamboo rod -- 8' 4-5wt 3/1. The rod is in excellent refinished condition. All sections are full length and straight. The second original tip is missing. The rod features classic Granger ammoniated, browntone cane. Rust and black variegated silks. There is a band of black tipping as well, not an original feature. Spiral signature wrap midway between the grip and stripping guide. Blued guides, a few are replacements. The original script has been lost and rewritten in the restorer's hand. Western-style grip is soiled but in wonderful shape. Nickel silver patented up-locking reel seat could use a little polishing but is otherwise in excellent condition and operates perfectly. Nickel-silver ferrules with indented witness marks. The fit is very good. The female ferrule on the mid section is clicking and will require attention soon. The rod has a smooth medium-fast action well suited as an all-around trout rod. The 8040 is thought by many to be the finest taper made by Granger. Weight - 4 1/2 oz. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
