A nice Gary Howells bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #5110. The rod weighs 4 1/8 ounces. Medium action. Used but good condition. Two opposed node pattern with a light caramel color oven temper cane with darker nodes. Brown main wraps with yellow edges. Carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The step ferrules are overwrapped in the typical Howells style. The grip is 6 1/2" long and shaped to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap. The seat is an aluminum uplocking screwlock over a varnished wood spacer. The rod packs into a red cloth bag and an aluminum tube with Gary's data sticker affixed to it.
