A nice Gary Howells bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #4243. 4 1/4 ounces according to the label, but my scale has it a tiny bit over that at 4.7 ounces. Very minimal use with only a hint of grip soiling. Wheatstraw oven tempered cane done in a three up node pattern. Excellent varnish. Brown main wraps with yellow edges. Chrome snake guides and tip tops. The ferrule fits are tight and the overall rod is straight. The grip is 6" long and done in a western profile with a hidden pocket cap for the uplocking aluminum screwlock. The wood spacer is a varnished zebra wood. The rod packs into a red cloth bag and an aluminum tube with Gary's data sticker and comes with the letter from Gary to the original owner (indicating that the owner needed to come pick it up because Gary was leaving to go fishing!).
