A nice John Bradford Legacy model fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #5 line. Serial #1682. 4.2 ounces. Used but very good condition, full length and no hook digs or other defects. The action is on the quicker side of medium. Very nice varnish with a moderate oven temper to the cane. Excellent care was taken with the blank preparation as the two up nodes are very small and there are no seam traces around the nodes. Agate stripper and black snake guides. The wraps are brown tipped yellow and color preserved. Small casting cracks at the ferrules. The step ferrules are oxidized and the fit is snug. The grip is 6" long in a blunt cigar cigar profile. The cap and ring seat is a mortised, stained, and varnished bird's eye maple. The ring retains 100% original oxidation but the butt cap has some rub spots reducing that oxidation to about 70%. "JA Bradford Co, Makers" in a cartouche on the butt cap. Cloth bag with ferrule plugs attached and a black anodized tube with brass hardware.
