For sale here is an E.C. Powell B-Taper 9' 5-6wt 2/2 bamboo rod. Tony Maslan-era. The rod is in excellent condition. All sections are full length with no repairs and none needed. The rod features mildly tempered straw colored cane. Brass colored wraps with full intermediates, black and white tipping at the winding check (denoting a hollow-built rod). Bright guides. Ceramic stripping guide insert. The script on the butt remains clear and bold. The original owner's name was written along with the patent and "E.C. Powell Rod Co.". Snake guide style hook-keeper. Characteristic E.C. Powell grip is soiled but free of ridging, dents, hook gouges, etc. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat with a handsome bakelite spacer. The Swiss-style ferrules are size 13/64, the fit is perfect. indented witness marks on the ferrules for easy alignment. The action is a balanced medium-fast. Plenty of backbone and also a sensitive tip to protect light tippets. The long length of the rod makes it a nice choice when far and fine casts are required. The length also aids greatly in mending for better drifts. The rod weighs 4.60 oz. Includes original bag and tube with label 90% intact. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
