A nice FE Thomas fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #4 or #5 line. #6 stamped on the butt cap (1916). Excellent refinished condition with a replaced grip and reel seat. Medium action. Light flame cane with random node spacing. The wraps are brown with nicely done intermediates. The varnish is excellent. The agate stripper has a crack. The reverse twist snake guides and tip tops are modern replacements. The step ferrules are oxidized. 5 3/4" grip cut to a cigar profile. The cap and ring seat looks to be a new replacement and is Mahogany. The butt cap and ring are original and oxidized. The cap is stamped "FE Thomas, Special, Bangor, ME" in a cartouche. The bag is green poplin and is missing the hang tag (it does have a hole at the to of the mid compartment). The tube has the Thomas rod shield decal.
