For sale here is a FE Thomas Browntone Special bamboo rod 7' 2/2 4wt. The rod is in near mint+ restored condition. Restored masterfully by Steve Blake, retaining the original hardware and wrapped with the correct silks. All sections are original to the rod, full length and straight. Serial number 31 on the butt cap, dating this rod to 1931. The rod features rich burgundy silks and the classic browntone cane. English, tempered, bronzed steel snake guides. Lovely swelled butt. Cigar grip with a sliding band, oxidized reel seat. Fine walnut spacer. Oxidized ferrules and hook keeper. The rod has a nice medium-fast dry-fly action. Actual weight 2.95 oz. Ferrule size is 10/64 and the fit is great. The rod comes with its original bag and tube (the Thomas shield label is likely a replacement). This is a beautiful little rod begging for small creeks and dry flies, don't miss out!
