For sale here is a 8’6" 3/2 F.E. Thomas Browntone Streamer Rod. Serial number EF109. Three sections with three tips.
The original owner of the rod was Edgar B. McKay, a teacher and environmental educator from Maine. Both of the Streamer rods he owned were made in 1947, the first year he began teaching at UMaine. This rod can be seen in the recently published FE Thomas book on page 289.
Standard brown wraps with red tipping at HK & male ferrules, half wells grip, screw down locking reel seat with wood spacer. Original tan bag and brass cap Thomas tube with original Thomas “shield” label. Condition is excellent. An extra tip was made by Jim Schaaf and is a very close match to the original tips. One of the original tips is down 1 1/2". The rod weighs 5.05 oz. and the ferrules are size 18/64 and 11/64 with an excellent fit.
