For sale here is a Gary Howells bamboo rod in excellent condition - 7'6 feet for a 6 or 7 weight in a 2/2 format, labeled 3 5/8 oz. You don't see this combination of a shorter rod and heavier line weighting on the resale market very often. Serial number 3911, crafted in the early 1970s. Carbide stripper guide, wrapped in brown thread with gold trim. Reverse half wells, down sliding aluminum ring and aluminum pocketed butt cap with cork insert reel seat. Includes original red bag and labeled aluminum tube. Label is in excellent condition as well. Varnish shows a little aging, but there is only one spot where you will find a small piece of varnish chipped off the rod, as shown in the photos. I would still the rate the varnish as in excellent condition for the age of the rod. No repairs needed for sure.
