For sale here is a Hardy Bros. "Palakona" bamboo fly rod made in November 1971. 6' 2/1 for a 5 weight line. Serial L/Z. The rod is in excellent original condition. Both sections are full length. The tip is 1/2" shorter, made that way. There is a slight fishing set in the tip that can easily be removed. Deep forest green silks with emerald green tipping. Agate stripping guide. English, reverse twist guides are brass colored as well is the hook keeper. Cigar grip though soiled is in great condition. Anodized aluminum down-locking reel seat over cork. Fast dry-fly action. Ferrule plug. Ferrules fit nice and tight, size 11/64. Rod weighs 2.55 oz. Comes with original dark blue Hardy bag and replacement aluminum tube. This is an excellent example of a Hardy rod from this period.
