An unusual HL Leonard fly rod, 8', 1-piece, built for what feels to me like a #4. 3.9 ounces. A very scarce model. Delicate, medium fast action. Fair condition as it has been unprofessionally rewrapped and the based of the swell has had either a slight delamination problem or was not glued up properly, though it seems solid now. Pre-fire. The varnish work looks to be original. Keeper one flat right. The grip is 5 1/2" long in a medium blunt cigar. The reel seat is a butternut spacer with some circular damage to the varnish. Downlocking screw lock with a nickel silver pocket cap bearing the stamp "The Leonard Rod, HL Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in a cartouche, and below that "Reg US Pat Off". The upper part of the tip could use some minor straightening. The white linen bag has the original hang tag but it is illegible. The aluminum tube has a swaged on pocket for the grip and has a brass collar and top.
Please note that due to the length of this rod there may be a surcharge for shipment.
