A nice Charlton 8550C fly reel with the bonefish spool. Set up for RHW. The reel and spool are in near mint condition with one tiny nick and one tiny scuff on the rim of the spool being the only thing keeping it out of the mint category. Serial number 8550-9787. 4 1/2" diameter with a 1 3/16" spool width. The capacity for this model/spool combination is listed as WF 7/8/9 and anywhere from 200 to 290 yards 20 lb backing. Catalog weight of 11.7 ounces. The sealed carbon fiber disk drag is self-adjusting and has over 9-square inches of surface area. Excellent all-black type-III hard anodizing except for the center medallion and the counterweight which are done in chrome. The reel is packed in the original padded green cordura pouch. A highly sought-after Charlton model here, it doesn't get much better than this for chasing big bonefish.
