For sale here is a James Reams hollowbuilt bamboo rod -- 8'6" with two sections and two tips for a 4 or 5 weight line. Serial no. 135-8-04. The rod is in excellent overall condition. All sections are full length and straight. Caramel wraps with oxblood tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, and ferrules. Lightly blued guides. The tips are numbered one and two for convenience. Full wells grip 6 1/4" in length with light soiling. Blued nickel silver up-locking sliding band reel seat over a mortised burl rosewood spacer. The blued nickel silver butt cap shows some bluing loss at the rim. The blued Swiss-style nickel silver ferrules are size 14/64 with a perfect fit. The rod weighs 3.85 oz. The rod features an action on the faster side of medium-fast with plenty of power in the butt. The rod has very fine tips that provide excellent tippet protection and finesse. The length of the rod allows for more mending capability and better drifts - an exceptional dry fly rod.
The rod includes its original bag and tube with brass fittings. The tube is also housed in a fine canvas bag.
