For sale here is a wonderful and early example of a Julius Vom Hofe german silver & hard rubber trout fly reel in the desirable size 3. Featuring incised rims and slightly bolstered pillars, the reel is in excellent overall condition. No cracks in the hard rubber and no dings to the nickel silver. The foot is full length and un-filed. Good click. The reel is stamped "Appleton & Bassett Boston" which dates the reel to 1893-1901. A timeless classic that needs to hang from one of your cane rods and go fishing again!
