For sale here is a one of a kind Lyle Dickerson Model 661510 bamboo rod. 6 1/2 feet, three-piece rod with two tips, best suited for a 4 weight line in my opinion. Dated 1949. 3 1/2 oz. 3x3 node pattern. Very strong fast action. Brown wrappings tipped in black. Typical downlocking reel seat with walnut spacer in near mint restored condition. Rod was restored by Jim Schaaf. Original bag & tube. This is the only Model 661510 Dickerson rod known to have surfaced over the years and the Dickerson ledger shows only two ever made. The only other Dickerson rods made under seven feet that have been found or which are listed in Dickerson's ledger are three two-piece six and a half foot rods. Any collection that included this rod would indeed be considered a highly-esteemed collection.
This fine rod and other rods and fishing tackle catalogs for sale here at Vintage Fly Tackle come from the collection of Dr. Gerald Stein, co-author with Jim Schaaf of the wonderful book, "Dickerson: The Man and His Rods".
