Aroner Fishing Creek Fly Rod 7'6" 3/2 #5

98

A rare Aroner "Fishing Creek" fly rod, 7'6" 3-piece, 2-tip and built for #5 line. Fast D.F. Action. Near mint condition. Slight brassing inside the guides and very slight coloring from hand on the grip. 11 cork medium blunt grip. Early style mortised swamp maple reel seat with the wooden lip up to the edge of the rear cork. No die stamp on the butt cap dates this rod to the late 1980's. A few small scratches on the reel seat. "Aroner 71/2' #5. Fishing Creek " is inscribed on the wrap flat. The bamboo is lightly oven tempered and spar varnished. 3 up node pattern. Wraps are light brown with dark brown edges. Black Mildrum stripping guide, and high arch high-speed steel guides. Oxidized swiss ferrules with a collar on the males with incised slant knurl and trim marks. Tips are mirrored, which was slightly unusual for this model as they were often identical but not mirrored. No ferrule plugs were supplied with these models but I can provide some for a small extra charge. This rod was possibly sold through Barry Beck's tackle shop in Pennsylvania. I discontinued making these about 2000. Black anodized tube with brass collar and top. Bag is correct and original.
