A Marc Aroner Hunt Pattern fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip and built for a #5 line. 4.3 ounces. Medium fast to fast action. Excellent used condition, some brassing to the cap and ring edges and light soiling to the grip. Flamed cane with a pressed three up node pattern. Mirrored tips. Signature wraps. Flawless varnish. The main wraps are olive, varnished transparent with red edges. The stripping guide is an antique perfection and all the snakes are high arch HSS black. Keeper on the wrap flat. The swiss ferrules are somewhat truncated with collars on the males with recessed slant knurls. The ferrules are oxidized jet black. The cork grip is 6" long and shaped to a medium cigar profile. The cap and ring reel seat has the stamp "Aroner, Maker" and the mortised, highly figured walnut is varnished perfectly smooth. The cork and brass ferrule plugs have a snap pocket on the bag for storage. The heavy wall aluminum tube is polished with brass fittings. The brass collar is stamped "Aroner, Maker" and the heavy domed brass top is as sturdy as they come (all hardware is made by me here in the shop).
