A Marc Aroner Spring Creek model bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. 2.9 ounces. Mint, uncast condition. Fast DF action. Blonde oven tempered cane done in a three up node pattern configuration. Olive wraps with red edges and an extra band of green at the keeper and male ferrules. The stripper is a #8 SRMC carbide with bronze snakes. The varnish is pane-of-glass perfect. The ferrules are swiss style with a collar on the males with an inset slant knurl. They are oxidized jet black. The grip is 4 1/2" long and shaped to a slim cigar. The rear cork check is mounted on a varnished mortised koa spacer which has oxidized cap and ring hardware. The cap has my "Aroner Maker" die stamp which dates this rod to the late 1990's. All brass ferrule plug. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and a polished aluminum tube with a FE Thomas style brass bottom, cap, and top (the trim marks are split apart on the collar so that the roller die stamp can be placed at opposite sides). My two-piece rods are fairly rare and can be pretty hard to come by. It is great to see this one which is in the same pristine condition it left my shop more than two decades ago!
