A rare Max Yerxa bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #3 line. The rod weighs 3.7 ounces on my scale. Fast action. Used condition. The grip is fairly well soiled and I spotted a small hook dig on the butt, but the rod is in good shape overall. Moderate light color cane with a two opposed node pattern. The main wraps are gold with a black edge at the keeper only. Gold intermediates on the butt with only one between each guide on the tips. Agate stripper and chrome snakes. The writing on the butt has faded to the point of almost not being able to see it. One tip has some watermarks in the cane. The grip is 6 1/2" long and shaped to a modified full wells profile with a taper to the top. The reel seat is composite wood with the uplocking threads cut right into it. The swiss style ferrules are polished bright. The rod bag is bright red/orange with a drawstring and the rod packs into an aluminum tube. Yerxa rods are very hard to come by and I've seldom seen shorter lighter rods in this particular size. A nice find.
