A nice Ron Kusse fly rod 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #6 line. Serial #9140. "Mirror tips" model. The hangtag states the weight as 3 7/8 oz however my scale says 4.8 oz. Mint condition, unused, in an all-brass tube. The rod has a fast DF action. It was intended as a showpiece as it has an all-walnut grip and reel seat. The walnut grip is neatly sculpted to a slim cigar and matches the wheat straw cane temper color nicely. The bamboo shafts have an excellent coat of varnish. Node pattern is 3 up construction. Tips are mirrored. The temper color is wheat straw. The main wraps are tan with a maroon edge at the keeper, male ferrules, and tip-top. There are 4 extra wraps at the keeper, purple, brown, tan, and maroon. The ferrules are Leonard step style and are oxidized black. The reel seat is an oxidized cap and ring. The cap is stamped "Ron Kusse, Maker "in a cartouche opposite the wrap flat. The rod comes with a cloth bag with Ron's hangtag. All is packed in a stunning all-brass tube.
