A nice Orvis "Seven Four" bamboo fly rod, 7', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #89591 made in the mid 1980's. 3.6 ounces on my scale. The action is on the slower side of medium. Near mint condition with just a hint of grip soiling. Three up node pattern construction and a temper to the light tan color. The resorcinol glue shows strongly. Tan main wraps with brown edges. Chrome guides and a carbide stripper. The grip is 6 1/2" long with a hidden pocket cap and turned to a western style. The uplocking slide band seat features a bright nickel silver slide band and retaining cap. The wood is a mortised stabilized west coast maple bark. The rod packs in a green cloth bag and a black painted aluminum tube with the Orvis data sticker.
