For sale here is an older impregnated Orvis "Battenkill" 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial #10507. Made in 1949 by George Reid. The rod is in excellent original condition with one exception. It appears one of the tip-tops has been replaced. The upper hook keeper wrap is beginning to come unraveled and will require attention at some point. All sections are full length though both tips have sets.
The rod features darkly tempered cane that highlights the grain of the bamboo nicely. Chestnut brown wraps as per usual for Orvis rods. Oxidized guides and ferrules. The script has almost completely worn off except for the serial numbers. Cigar grip with a slender nose 6" in length. The grip is soiled and has a few small indentations but is in otherwise fine shape. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a handsome walnut spacer. Ferrule size 12/64, the fit is great. The rod weighs 3.60 oz. The action is medium-fast. A great trout stick. Includes original bag and tube sans label. There is a small hole in the bottom of the bag that is currently taped. The Battenkill is one of the most popular rods to come from the Orvis shop, grab this one for a great price!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
