An Orvis Battenkill bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #8 line. The rod weighs 4.4 ounces on my scale. Serial #82958. Medium slow, full flexing action. Lightly used condition with modest grip soiling and cosmetic casting cracks at the ferrule wraps. This is a later rod with the slightly lighter cane temper which is done in a three up node pattern. The main wraps are brown with a carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The grip is a very blunt cigar profile measuring 6 1/2" in length. Oxidized step ferrules. The rod is straight and the ferrule fits are good. The reel seat is a downlocking aluminum screwlock with a pocket cap. Varnished walnut spacer. The rod tube has the original Orvis sticker.
