A nice Orvis Manchester model fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tips, built for a #7 or a #6 if you like a quicker action. Serial #8400. 5.3 ounces. Used but very good serviceable condition. Medium action. Dark impregnated cane in a three up node pattern. The wraps are a dark garnet color with a small carbide stripper and black HSS snake guides. Oxidized step ferrules though the fit is a little tight - a quick cleaning should take care of that though. The tips have a slight downward set. "Manchester, Orvis, Impregnated, Pat Pend." lettered on the shaft. The grip is 6" long and done in a medium cigar profile and it shows a slight bit of hand soiling from use. The reel seat is an all aluminum downlocking screwlock with a pocket cap. The rod packs in a brown cloth bag. The rod tube is non-original and the aluminum top seems locked on the collar, but due to a split in the collar it can be twisted off.
