A nice Orvis Wes Jordan model bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #9 line. Impregnated model, built in 1971. Three up node pattern construction with medium chestnut cane. Powerful medium full flexing action. Excellent used condition with just a bit of hand soiling to the grip, but the rod is nice and straight (the only real issue I could find is that the bottom of the reel seat pocket cap has had the end disc pop out and is no longer there. This should be fixable by having a competent rodmaker replace it). Serial number "64314" inked at the top of the butt near the ferrule and near the male ferrules on both tips. Wrapped brown. Mildrum stripping guide and the rod has a hook keeper. The oxidized ferrules are in excellent shape and retain all of their oxidation. Medium cigar grip 6 1/2" in length. Downlocking screwlock reel seat over a varnished wood spacer (with aforementioned missing disc on the pocket cap). The rod packs into a light tan poplin bag and a leather tube (the tube's main strap is in place but one of the smaller cross straps on the cap needs fixing).
