A superb Otto Zwarg 400 Laurentian model salmon reel in 4/0 size. 14.8 oz in weight. Serial #B114, indicating a rare circa-1947 Brooklyn-made reel, and it has the Brooklyn stamp on the oil port as well (after two years of operation in Brooklyn, Zwarg moved his reelmaking operation to Florida in 1947. Zwarg, of course, had been the foreman at the Vom Hofe shop for many years). The reel is in excellent overall condition with clean hard rubber sideplates and very minor wear on the nickel silver rims. The foot has some mounting marks and there is a slight upwards bend on one side but the foot. There are no major scratches, dings, or other significant issues anywhere. It packs in a very nice British-made Homa block leather reel case. I've always loved Zwargs and this is a fine example of their exquisite craftsmanship from those early Brooklyn years.
