For sale here is a beautiful Payne Model 204 bamboo rod -- 8'6 3/2 5 wt weighing 4 3/8 oz. Rod is in excellent+ to near mint condition, ALL ORIGINAL and also does not appear to have been fished much. All sections are full length and straight. All of the hardware is blued and in superb cosmetic condition. Blued cap and ring over a gorgeous cedar insert. Chestnut brown thread wraps with black trim. Includes original cloth bag with hang tag and labeled aluminum tube. A Payne collector rod indeed!
I have some correspondence between the current owner of this rod (my consignment customer) who purchased the rod from Kruh back in 1980. He has not fished it since. Kruh comments back then, "it is a sure prize for the "unrefinished" fanatic."
