For sale here is a beautiful Payne 7'6" spinning rod with a listed weight of 7 1/2 oz. The rod is in near mint original condition. Both sections are full length and arrow straight. Sold by Abercrombie & Fitch as denoted by the stamp on the butt cap. This rod was originally designed for bonefish and salmon but has found a home with all fresh and saltwater fish that require a heavier line. All of the fittings are corrosion resistant for use in the harshest of environments.
The rod features beautifully tempered cane, chestnut silks with gold tipping. The varnish remains in like new condition. Gold and burgundy tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. All of the guides feature imported German agate inserts. There are two hairline cracks in the tip-top agate and one partial crack in the stripping guide agate. The grip is an extra-long 17" for better handling of large fish. The cork shows only the lightest of handling marks. Dual black anodized ring reel seat with a non-skid neoprene butt cap. The oxidized ferrules are size 16/64 with a perfect fit. Includes original ferrule plug. The actual weight of the rod is the same as the marked weight.
Includes the original poplin bag with hang tag. The tag has been detached and is currently taped on. Original tube.
A must for the Payne enthusiast or anyone with a taste for the best!
