A nice EF Payne fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #6 or #7 line. One tip is 1 1/4" short. Refinished condition. 5.0 ounces. 1960's vintage with the "Made for Abercrombie & Fitch" stamp. Powerful medium fast action. Good refinished condition with hard varnish. Some abrasion from shooting the line has been covered over in the refinish. This rod could use some straightening as there are sets in the upper mid and both tips. Ferrule oxidation is 100%. The 6" long western-style grip has been cleaned but has not suffered any cork erosion. The reel seat is an uplocking screwlock with a Spanish cedar insert. The stamp on the nut is "Payne" in a cartouche and "Reg US Pat Off". As noted previously, it also has the 1960's A&F stamp. The ferrule fits are a bit tight and could use some cleaning. The rod comes with original ferrule plugs, original bag (alas no hang tag) and the original tube.
